Layers of Gold
by Saulander Evans © 2006

Time all her own

Rummaging through rooms once barred, now

Unlocked and unforgotten. Bygone days revisited

Transform life into an aura of oneness its

Healing power beyond measure, granting the

Sanctity of individuality and freedom.

Answering to no one except herself and

No longer oppressed. Wake in the Netherlands

Dual benefit, both wild and circumspect.

Familiar baggage left elsewhere knock twice

Reach and grasp for the touch of class

Introspective sophistication momentarily set aside

Enumerated desires youth’s resilient diamond

Nested with maturity’s sensuality play abounds.

Destined for heights and depths unreachable until now the

Summit of Everest, treasure trove within the frothy oceans.

Wreak trimmers from the fissure and within the cavern

Instantaneously triggering

Tantalizing shine up and down the cavern’s entrance

Harried and hot the natural spring bubbles.

Beneath the surface ready to pop

Emphatically eliciting carnal pursuit, followed

Not by condemnation but acceptance of need

Enjoyed and shared, and still understands it returns later to

Friendship, colleagues, respect of the art and craft

Into which they both strive to excel to greatness

Together as friends and yet apart from partnership; in

Support of each other’s talent and goals.

Simultaneous truths and friends with benefits

Successfully produce multitudinous layers of gold.

Enveloped with gilded paper and camaraderie until they’re old.
