Yesterday and Today...

Today was just like yestaerday
if only for a moment
Today was not like yesterday
But little did I know it

Until with hat and coat on
I trampled through the yard
slipping on a sheet of ice
and falling oh so hard

But then before my amazed eyes
right below my palm
a small green shoot was poking
waiting for it's dawn.

Kneelin there I brushed back leaves
exposing for my heart
a glimpse of spring just waiting
for a brand new start

So it's not like yesterday
no not one small bit
for I have seen spring coming
new life has just been lit!
