embracing insanity when it calls unannounced

I always wondered how
it would happenwhether the fragile threads
that bind my fluttering mindto this substantial body
would stretch thinner and finerhumming vibrato with
increasing discord until theysnapped
like the strings of a badly tuned guitar
tautened & mistreated by clumsy handsI didn't know it would be
this simple
Mo Irvine, 53, is an Englishwoman who now lives in New Zealand with her writer husband. She has written since the age of 8, and had her first "Letter to the Editor" published when she was 11.
Mo has had poetry published in two anthologies - The Review of Contemporary Poetry (Bluechrome Press, UK, 2005), and Dance With Words (Palabras Press, Canada, 2005). She has had articles, short stories and poetry published in Greece (Athens News) and Canada (What If Magazine). Her short story, Choices, was published in the USA (Wicked Karnival Halloween Horrors 2005) and she has work appearing in Wicked Karnival Issue 8, and O'Neil Press, Canada, later this year.
Mo loves to write, and believes she has grown as a writer since meeting her Kiwi husband. She says they have fun and spark off each other!
