The Self Reflects, Aims
© Felino Soriano

You wait

until the whisper

completes

its massage of your
hankering ears,

feathers turning twirls
inside

the rudiment of innate
senses.

Set into sailing, ambulation
talks
rhythms into sedentary
naturalists,

the echo can be seen
trotting in circles

where the points of exact
and prophecy

intertwine

like fingers of lovers
embracing the cuticles and
u-turn prints.

The back of you is darkened.

Attached to a distance
the feet
can never attain,

such cruelty

builds layers of thorns,
of reversible intentions

only reliable through
death.

A familiar door opens.

Things objectively
relate to
where you left them,

yet this home is
splayed from

childhood

and the pilgrimage into
now.

Breathing in scents
rising from

the eyes of the watching
stilled,

you know now you are home,

home as in the body

your whispering past
talked you into

receiving.

Felino Soriano (California) is a philosophy student and case manager

the author of a chapbook "Exhibits Require Understanding Open Eyes"
(Trainwreck Press, 2008) and an e-book "Among the Interrogated"
(BlazeVOX [books], 2008). Two chapbooks are also forthcoming
"Abstract Appearance Reaching Toward the Absolute" (Trainwreck Press,
2008) and "Feeling Through Mirages (Shadow Archer Press, 2008). The
juxtaposition of his philosophical studies with his love of classic
